God has a unique way of using our desires in life to bring forth his kingdom and use our personal gifts as a way to express his heart. Though it came with a lot of turns, I am grateful for the road that brought me here. It has cultivated aspects about my character and creativity that I wouldn’t have been able to develop on my own. Being able to expand my horizons through travel , diverse friend groups, and jobs has been the greatest benefit to my career and overall outlook on life. I have learned so much from studying other cultures, religions, architecture, fashion and etiquettes.

When I graduated from college I knew I wanted to do something that benefitted people. Pinpointing that one area was challenging. While applying for graduate school, I worked behind the scenes at many golf courses and country clubs, learning every aspect of the service industry. At the time, it was just a way for me to make quick and easy money. Little did I know it would later come to serve me in so many other areas.

After feeling led to seek out my purpose as a missionary, I embarked on the World Race. Eleven months later of working in various countries, feeling passionate about the work I was doing yet not necessarily called to continue it, I prayed to the Lord for answers. I was met with, “Love God, do what you want”. After feeling frustrated about this initial answer and meditating more on the meaning,  I discovered that God is for us and he wants to fulfill the desires of our heart as long as they glorify Him in the process. Which honestly made it even more difficult, knowing I had the free will to do whatever I wanted as long as it aligned with God’s heart and mission. To love Him and to make Him known by loving others, (Matthew 22:36-39).

Fast forward to coming home, while interning for a wedding venue as an assistant coordinator, a door opened for me and I was offered a job as a venue manager for a brand-new venue, Bonnie Blues Event Venue. Having such a large part in the building and creation of that venue helped me develop key business skills that projected me into a highly motivated and creative mindset. Over the last 7 years I have had so many opportunities in the wedding industry getting to meet insanely talented vendors and helping turn small visions into actual fairytales. Stepping into this space was my answer to prayer. I could not have dreamt it up more perfectly myself. I feel blessed to create magical spaces and experiences for others while bringing people together to celebrate the holy covenant of two people. The Velvet Veil is the reflection of my two passions coming together. Thank you for inviting me into your sacred lives and trusting me to reflect your heart which will be cherished by so many.
